1. Purpose of this Policy
This Environmental Sustainability Policy explains how iamadroid approaches environmental responsibility across our business, supply chain and services. It is intended to support customers, suppliers, enterprise procurement teams and other stakeholders who need assurance that environmental considerations are part of our governance.
This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, Security page, Privacy Policy, Data Protection & GDPR page, Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement and Ethical Use & Human Rights Statement.
2. Our Commitment
iamadroid is committed to operating in a way that is lawful, responsible and environmentally aware. We aim to:
- comply with applicable environmental laws, regulations and customer requirements;
- reduce avoidable waste and unnecessary resource use;
- consider environmental impact when selecting or reviewing key suppliers;
- use cloud, AI and telephony resources efficiently where practical;
- minimise unnecessary business travel and printing;
- handle electronic equipment responsibly;
- review and improve our environmental approach as iamadroid grows.
3. About iamadroid
iamadroid provides business communication and automation services, including:
- AI Agents: website AI chat agents for lead capture, customer support, receptionist-style routing, appointment requests, ecommerce pre-sales and knowledge answers.
- AI Phone: AI voice agent and IVR-style call handling for answering, qualifying, routing and summarising business calls.
- Business Phone: normal non-AI business telephony, including business number and call-handling features.
We do not operate manufacturing facilities or large physical distribution operations. Our most relevant environmental impacts are connected to digital infrastructure, electricity use, cloud and AI compute, telecommunications services, suppliers, devices and business operations.
4. Environmental Impact Areas
As a software, AI and telephony provider, iamadroid’s main environmental impact areas include:
- Cloud infrastructure: hosting, databases, storage, backups and application services.
- AI and compute usage: AI model processing, speech processing, transcription and automation workloads.
- Telecommunications services: voice networks, number providers, communications APIs and call routing infrastructure.
- Digital suppliers: payment processors, email providers, analytics tools, software vendors and professional services.
- Devices and equipment: laptops, phones, peripherals and other IT equipment used in our business.
- Business operations: remote work, travel, printing, office use and general administration.
5. Cloud, AI and Digital Infrastructure
We recognise that digital services still have environmental impact. Cloud hosting, AI model processing, voice services and data storage all consume resources. iamadroid aims to use infrastructure responsibly by:
- designing services to avoid unnecessary processing where practical;
- monitoring usage and capacity needs as the platform grows;
- avoiding unnecessary retention of operational data where not required;
- considering supplier reliability, efficiency and sustainability commitments where practical;
- reviewing opportunities to improve performance and reduce wasteful compute over time.
We do not currently claim carbon neutrality, net-zero status or formal environmental certification unless expressly stated on a separate certified document or audit report.
6. Responsible AI and Compute Efficiency
AI services can increase computational demand. iamadroid’s approach is to use AI where it creates practical business value and to avoid unnecessary or wasteful use of processing capacity. We aim to:
- encourage practical, purposeful AI Agent and AI Phone configurations;
- avoid retaining unnecessary data that increases storage requirements;
- optimise platform logic and workflows where feasible;
- monitor product usage patterns that could create inefficient or abusive activity;
- continue improving technical efficiency as the product develops.
7. Telecommunications and Phone Services
AI Phone and Business Phone services rely on telecommunications networks, number providers, carriers, communications APIs and internet infrastructure. We aim to work with reputable service providers and to operate phone services in a way that is lawful, efficient and proportionate to business need.
We also maintain acceptable-use controls to reduce abusive, wasteful or unlawful traffic, including spam, nuisance calling, fraudulent traffic and other misuse that can create unnecessary operational and environmental burden.
8. Supplier Environmental Expectations
iamadroid expects suppliers, contractors and service providers to comply with applicable environmental laws and to operate responsibly. Depending on the supplier’s role, risk profile and importance to our services, we may consider:
- whether the supplier has an environmental, sustainability or climate policy;
- whether the supplier has relevant certifications, commitments or published reporting;
- whether the supplier uses responsible energy, waste and resource-management practices;
- whether the supplier can support secure reuse, recycling or disposal of equipment;
- whether the supplier’s services help reduce avoidable waste, travel or inefficiency.
We may review supplier environmental information during onboarding, contract review or enterprise customer assurance where appropriate.
9. Waste, Printing and Equipment
iamadroid aims to minimise avoidable waste in day-to-day operations. We prefer digital documents, digital contracting, online customer support and electronic records where practical.
- We avoid unnecessary printing and paper-based processes.
- We aim to use IT equipment for an appropriate working life before replacement.
- Where equipment is no longer needed, we aim to reuse, recycle or dispose of it responsibly.
- Where devices contain data, secure erasure or destruction should be considered before reuse, recycling or disposal.
10. Travel and Remote Working
iamadroid is suited to digital-first working. Where practical, we use remote meetings, online support, electronic documentation and digital collaboration to reduce unnecessary travel.
Business travel may still be appropriate for customer, supplier, compliance or operational reasons, but we aim to avoid travel that is unnecessary or can reasonably be replaced by effective remote communication.
11. Customer Environmental Benefits
iamadroid services may help customers operate more efficiently by supporting digital enquiry capture, online customer support, phone automation, appointment handling and reduced manual administration. In some cases, these tools may help reduce unnecessary travel, missed calls, repeated manual processes or paper-based workflows.
These benefits depend on how customers configure and use the services. iamadroid does not guarantee emissions reductions or environmental savings for any particular customer use case.
12. Pollution Prevention and Compliance
iamadroid does not operate industrial facilities, but we remain committed to preventing pollution where relevant to our operations. We expect our suppliers and contractors to manage waste, energy, emissions and hazardous materials responsibly and in compliance with applicable law.
13. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
We take a proportionate approach to environmental monitoring. As iamadroid grows, we may improve our environmental management by:
- reviewing key supplier sustainability commitments;
- tracking relevant energy, infrastructure or emissions information where available;
- reviewing cloud, AI and telecoms resource efficiency;
- strengthening procurement questions for higher-risk suppliers;
- updating this policy as customer, legal and operational expectations develop.
14. Governance and Responsibility
Responsibility for this policy sits with iamadroid management. Environmental considerations may be reviewed as part of supplier selection, enterprise assurance, operational planning, security and compliance governance where relevant.
Employees, contractors and suppliers are encouraged to raise environmental concerns or improvement suggestions where they relate to iamadroid’s operations or services.
15. Reporting Concerns
Questions, concerns or supplier-assurance requests relating to this Environmental Sustainability Policy should be sent to: compliance@iamadroid.com.
16. Review
This policy is intended to be reviewed at least annually, or sooner where there are material changes to our products, suppliers, customer requirements, legal obligations or environmental risk profile.
